Hidden in the mountains of the Mahwit region, this lot is the result of hard work and dedication by a group of \u003cstrong\u003e80+ women producers\u003c\/strong\u003e. These women handle about \u003cstrong\u003esixty percent of the coffee cultivation\u003c\/strong\u003e, a true testament to their vital role in an industry that sustains the community.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHistorically, like in many farming communities across the world, these women were confined to secondary roles and their contributions remained largely unrecognized. In recent years, \u003cstrong\u003eQima has taken significant steps to support women farmers\u003c\/strong\u003e of the region by introducing focused training programs. They also supported the training of ten female farmers to form a dedicated women’s coffee cooperative. This cooperative represents \u003cstrong\u003ea turning point\u003c\/strong\u003e, ensuring that the \u003cstrong\u003evital contributions of women\u003c\/strong\u003e are \u003cstrong\u003eformally recognized and celebrated\u003c\/strong\u003e. The cooperative serves as a platform for collaboration, exchange of knowledge and stands as a symbol of the collective resolve of Mahwit’s women.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Mahwit region is quite cut off and it's hard to find Mahwiti coffee. He is now a member of the \u003cstrong\u003eMonkaaba group\u003c\/strong\u003e and was a \u003cstrong\u003efounding member of the Los Naranjos Association in 2000\u003c\/strong\u003e, an organization that brought 90 smallholder producer together to receive more for their coffee.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDespite being a lifelong farmer, he \u003cstrong\u003eonly shipped his first micro lot in 2018\u003c\/strong\u003e.
